Item (i) a mixer is a machine for mixing the surface compound prior to transportation for laying. It is machine driven and will be erected in the Government Quarry at Teat Taz Maui.
Item (ii) Motor or Steam Waggon. It is essential that the paving Compound, once mixed to the correct temperature and consistency, should be transported as rapidly as possible to the spot on which it is intended to be laid. The Compound is mixed at a temperature of about 400° F. and the hotter it is when laid the better the result obtained. As the quarry is 3 to 4 miles from the centre of Victoria it is obvious that some rapid form of trans- -port is necessary.
Item (iii). Alteration and extension to the existing drying machine in the quarry is necessary to cope with the increas- -ed amount of material to be dealt with and to increase the
temperature obtainable.
Item (iv). Hoppers and barros are needed for handling the materials.
